The Golf Cart Parts That Break Most Often
In order to keep your golf cart functional for all your riding needs, you’re going to have to replace some parts on it eventually. You may be curious to know which parts you should watch out for so that you can plan ahead and avoid unnecessary downtime. Here are some of the most commonly replaced parts on golf carts so you can stay on top of upkeep.
Batteries
The battery in your golf cart’s engine needs to be cleaned once a month and the water level should be topped off at the same time. A well-cared-for battery will last anywhere from seven to ten years, but you will have to replace it eventually.
Solenoid
This device is found in both electric and gas golf carts. In electric carts, it permits and prevents the electrical current’s journey to the traction motor. In gas models, the solenoid lets current flow through the generator or starter to the engine. These parts are heavily used, so they need replacement more often.
Shocks
The shocks on your golf cart help it to stay balanced and operate smoothly. If you start noticing that your golf cart makes a lot of noise going over bumps or that the front of the cart is sagging, the shocks may need replacing.
